Simple and Transparent.

We believe that a successful project requires more than a quality product; it also takes a positive process. We want our clients to enjoy the experience whether it’s a small piece of furniture or a whole remodel.

We believe the fundamental values that lead to successful projects are honest communication and a transparent process.

Carpentry or Construction Project?

Here’s how we do it:

Initial Conversation.

It all starts with an email and a phone conversation. We’ll chat through your project ideas and discuss general aesthetic, functionality, timeline, and feasibility. Afterwards, we’ll provide a best-guess price range based on the info we have. If that range is aligned with your budget, then we can move onto the next steps where we will dive deeper into the details. This step of the process is offered at no-charge to our clients.

Project Proposal.

This is the phase where we iron-out as many details as possible and develop an accurate project scope and cost. We will come and visit the site, get a feel for the space, take lots of measurements, and draft the design drawings (depending on the project).

We’ll take all this info and compile a detailed project proposal which includes a complete scope-of-work description, designs, and price. Depending on the size of the project, this could take 1-2 weeks to complete. These take a lot work, so we charge an hourly rate for our proposals, which gets credited towards the project once a contract is signed.

Contract & Scheduling.

Once the proposal is accepted, we’ll draft a contract, take a deposit, and schedule the project. We’ll then provide a detailed project calendar so you can follow-along with expected progress, which includes material delivery dates, inspection dates, and progress payment dates among other details. Our initial project deposits are based on the total cost:

  • Project cost < $10k = 50% deposit

  • Project cost > $10k = 25% deposit

Design Revisions.

One design revision is included in the cost; any revisions beyond that will be billed at our hourly design rate. Multiple design changes will affect the total cost of the project, in which case a Change Order will be signed showing the adjustment to the contracted price.

Project Execution.

This is the fun part — we get to build your project! We’ll communicate daily via your preferred method (text, email, phone, in-person) about progress and schedule. All of our workmanship is guaranteed for quality and functionality.
